About Bill

Bill Zinnert built Diamond Decks from the ground up in 1993 to give homeowners a personalized, custom alternative to volume-first, production-style operations. Three decades later, that is still what sets Diamond Decks apart in Central Maryland.

While other companies chase volume and speed, Bill runs the business as a deliberate, quality-first, two-crew operation, with his attention on material selection, direct communication, and hands-on project management.

The Design & Consultation Phase

You will work directly with Buddy Goetzger, Vice President of Sales. Buddy handles your initial phone pre-qualification, conducts your at-home consultation, and builds the interactive 3D model so you can see the project before it is built. 

The Construction Phase

Once the design is finalized and permits are secured, Bill takes over. He coordinates the pre-construction meeting, oversees the build crews, and personally performs the final walkthrough to confirm every detail meets the standard. 

Why He Started Diamond Decks

Bill founded the company in 1993 after watching how most deck contractors ran their operations and deciding he wanted no part of it. Cheap framing lumber. Crews the homeowner had never met.

Owners who showed up to sign the contract and then vanished. Schedules that slipped because the company had bid on five other jobs the same week.

So he built the alternative. One project at a time. Higher-grade lumber than production builders install. The owner personally manages every job.
