As a leading custom deck company in Anne Arundel County, MD, we are a Fiberon Ambassador and authorized installer for five leading composite brands; we will help you pick the right board for your sun exposure, color, and budget.

  • Fiberon (preferred): Bill’s go-to brand and the reason we hold Ambassador status.
  • Trex: A name homeowners recognize, with options at multiple price points.
  • Timbertech / Azek: Premium PVC and capped composite for the highest-end finish.
  • Wolf: A solid mid-tier composite that holds up in Maryland weather.
  • Deckorators: Mineral-based composite with a different feel underfoot.

Deck Remodeling and Resurfacing

A large share of our work each year is resurfacing; old boards off, new composite down, part of our expertise in custom deck installation in Anne Arundel County, MD, on framing that has been inspected and brought up to current standards.

  • Framing Inspection: Every joist, ledger, and post is checked before a new board goes on.
  • Framing Repairs: Aged-out wood swapped for #1 grade extreme-rated pressure-treated lumber.
  • New Composite Surface: Your pick from the five brands above, with picture-frame inlay.

Wood Decks

Pressure-treated wood is still the right call for some Maryland backyards, and our team delivers premium results as a custom deck contractor in Anne Arundel County, MD. We build it on #1 grade, extreme-rated lumber (.23 rating), a step above standard .25 stock.

  • Higher-Grade Lumber: The same framing we put under premium composite jobs.
  • Picture-Frame Border: A clean perimeter board that hides cut ends and defines the edge.
  • Clean Railing Transitions: Properly cut and fitted railing connections so nothing looks like an afterthought.

Multi-Level and Swim / Spa Decks

Walkout basements and sloped lots are common around here, and a single-level rectangle does not always work. For hot tubs, we reinforce the framing and design around them.

  • Multi-Level Builds: Two or three tiers, designed in 3D before we order materials.
  • Spa Decks: Framing reinforced to carry the loaded tub weight, composite around the perimeter.
  • Site Planning: Bill walks the property to map each level to door swings, sightlines, and grade.
A covered outdoor porch or deck area is shown with brown wicker furniture, including a sofa, two chairs, and a chaise lounge. The deck floor is made of brown composite material. Overhead, there's a ceiling fan and string lights. The porch is attached to a house with beige siding and overlooks a grassy yard with a small shed.

Deck Inlays

A picture-frame border is included on every Diamond Decks project, no upcharge. It is the detail that separates a deck that looks built from a deck that looks finished.

  • Picture-Frame Border (Standard): A clean perimeter board that hides cut ends and defines the edge.
  • Inlay Patterns: Diagonal layouts, contrasting borders, and inset shapes for a deck that doubles as the design feature.
  • Stair And Landing Detailing: The same logic carried through treads and landings.

Custom Decks FAQs

How long does a typical Diamond Decks project take to build?
About one week once the crew is on site, with updates from Bill every few days. Larger multi-level and screen-porch combinations run longer.
Most of our deck projects land in the $40,000 to $60,000 range, with larger screen porch and deck combinations going higher. We do not take on repair work or projects under 200 sq. ft.
Do you handle the permits and HOA paperwork?
Yes. We handle all permitting on your behalf and collaborate directly with you on HOA approvals.
Most clients choose composite decking from Fiberon, Trex, Timbertech, Wolf, or Deckorators because of how Maryland’s weather affects wood over time. We will walk you through the differences during your consultation.
