Can I add features to a deck I already have, or do they need to be part of a new build?

Some features (lighting, railing replacement, certain fire pit configurations) can be retrofitted. Underdeck water management and framed-in fireplaces are best handled during a new build or full resurface, since they need access to the framing.

Are underdeck systems waterproof?

No. Zip-Up and Trex Rain Escape are water management systems; they channel runoff away from the lower level rather than sealing the surface. The space below stays dry under typical Maryland weather, but neither system is sold or installed as waterproofing.

What railing do you recommend for an Anne Arundel County deck?

Most projects land on either standard white vinyl with aluminum balusters or full aluminum in black or bronze. Aluminum is what we recommend most often; the lines are cleaner, and the maintenance is lower. Bill will walk through the trade-offs during your consultation.

Do you only install lighting and railing brands you carry?
